Hi! My name is Rita Peters. My work consists of original oil paintings and ceramic work focused around the natural world and its most mysterious, ethereal elements. I was born and raised in Asheville, NC, with the Blue Ridge Mountains practically in my backyard. As a result, I have been very fortunate to be surrounded by nature since an early age. This has served as my most constant source of inspiration. The natural world, specifically in relation to femininity, provides a mirror for humanity while simultaneously offering an intrigue and mystique that goes beyond our understanding. This is what I attempt to capture in my paintings. My content and style reflect the feeling of vibrancy in nature along with its inherent mystery as I see it. I believe my way of seeing and painting the natural world has the power to resonate with others who experience nature in this otherworldly manner, while providing new perspectives to those who do not.
